Harvest Festival in the Mission Room |
The Harvest Festival was held in the Cranmer Mission-room on Sunday, October 28th. Holy Communion was celebrated at 9 a.m., and there was an even-song at 3 p.m., with sermon by the Rev, J. Standish, Vicar of Scarrington and Aslockton. The room was crowed to excess. The usual appropriate psalms and hymns were heartily rendered by the choir and congregation. The room was very tastefully decorated by Mrs. Standish, Misses Parnham, Stevens, Rickett, and others, with flowers, fruit, corn, and vegetables, which had been kindly given by parishioners. |
