|Obituary - William Jones|
We regret to have to record the death, at the age of twenty-one, of a very promising young man - William, eldest son of Mr. Jones, miller of Aslockton.
Not being in a very good state of health, he paid a visit to an uncle at Northampton, hoping the change, and rest might be beneficial, but fever set in, and, after acute suffering, he gradually sank, and death ensued on Saturday morning, October 26th.
His body was removed to his father's house and on Sunday was interred in Aslockton Cemetery.
He was a member of the B Company Belvoir Rifle Volunteers, and had won several prizes.
