The Feast |
This Trinity-tide holiday has been celebrated during the week in the usual brisk manner. Owning, no doubt to the Club demonstration being held at Aslockton, most of the means of amusement are established at that end of the district. At Whatton, however, two cricket matches have been played on the well-kept ground, the one on Monday resulting in an easy win the home team, the scores reading - Ruddington 88, Whatton 123; and Tuesday's match being as signal a defeat for the same party, whose team was said to be considerably weaker than that of the previous day - scores: Redmile 122, Whatton 56. |
