Beasts killed by lightning during Thunderstorm at Whatton |
On Wednesday afternoon, during the violent storm which visited this locality, two beasts belomging to Mrs. Dickinson Hall, of Whatton Manor, were killed by lightning. The animals were shletering under one of the thorn trees which adorn this estate, and traces of the passage of the electric fluid are visible among the branches, but no marks were found on the cattle themselves, no so much as the singeing of a hair being apparent. |
